yeah that was my first thought too, but:

mount: warning: seems to be mounted read-write.

too bad, would have been just perfect.

Dear Radu,

I tried it on Ubuntu 10.0.4.2 and 10.0.4.3 with different kernel versions (amd64 server 2.6.32 kernel). No success. Always compilation error. I've looked for an 2.6.31 kernel in ubuntus repositories and found one (patched) kernel.

Under that kernel your script is working, but x-server fails to start. Access to that machine from annother pc on port 8333 seems to work (there is a response, but no login prompt).

I took the actual version from your script - don't understand what's going wrong.

Thanks

Ok, I managed to get it working, using the last available script I removed the lpusb blacklist on the file above and after installing and rebooting I set the path to my printer in the printer proprieties /dev/usb/lp0 and it worked like a charm.

Hi, I'm having a problem with the installation of my new printer LBP6000b on ubuntu 11.10, I've noticed that the usblp was blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-cups-usblp.conf due to a bug.
I've enabled it cause it's needed by the common one.
The printer it's still not working, the procedure to run the script shoul be done without it connected, and should I plug it after the first reboot?
If you need more info, just let me know.

I tried two version of patches: 1.6 and 1.5 on Ubuntu 10.04 desktop 32 bit. It does not work in both cases.

Version 1.6 script says:
filter.c:1089: error: 'filterIoctlSem' undeclared (first use in this function)

Version 1.5 script says:

Using 2.6.x kernel build system.

  ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid.
         include/linux/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing.
Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it.

cc1: error: include/linux/autoconf.h: No such file or directory

Did anyboby manage to patch and run vmware-server on ubuntu 10.04?
