Linux Identity Starter – Ubuntu Family 9.10 Karmic Koala
Recently I’ve finished my work for the latest issue of the Linux Identity Starter magazine which talks about the large Ubuntu family, reached at the 9.10 release. Marking the important evolution of the latest release from Canonical, this issue contains several interesting articles about setting up an Ubuntu environment, offering you the chance to know what are your options if you want to use Ubuntu or its officially supported derivatives.
With content generally aimed for a medium experienced user, Linux Identity Starter – Ubuntu Family 9.10 will also take care of the newcomers by teaching them how to install this great distribution on their PCs. For those of you who like to test drive multiple operating systems or to build multi-platform software products, a comprehensive article about virtualization under Ubuntu will give you some good insights on what are the available products which you could use for this by deep analyzing five of the most used type 2 hypervisors.
Two other interesting articles tell you how to create your own web corner on an Ubuntu server machine using the Drupal CMS (which has soon been adopted by the White House) and how to install a GUI for Ubuntu Server that can be used in the terminal (no X involved).
